DJ Christos, also known as Christos Katsaitis, is a South African deejay and house producer who has earned the title of “The Godfather of House” for his significant contributions to the South African dance music scene. He began spinning records at the young age of thirteen, and has since performed at some of the most iconic clubs in the Gauteng area, including Fourth World, Caesar’s Palace, and Arena.
Throughout his career, DJ Christos has been known for crossing racial borders in a time when segregation was still present in South Africa. He has also established himself as one of the longest-spinning and most influential house producers/DJs in the country.
In addition to his successful deejaying career, DJ Christos is also a successful music producer and label owner. He is the co-founder of the Kalawa label, as well as the founder of Katsaitis Music, which boasts a roster of popular artists and deejays such as Monique Bingham, Vinny Da Vinci, and Ralf GUM.
DJ Christos has also released several albums, including “Wicked Sounds Volume 1,” “Spiritual Journey 2,” and “Inside Of Me 2,” as well as singles, EPs and DJ mixes. In 2004, he founded the South African Music Conference.
